Finding the Perfect Refurbished Laptop with Refurbo

I am a consumer, just like you :). My life revolves around my work and my work revolves around my life. Well, my work revolves around my laptop because it is what brings the food to the plate and helps me pay those bills. As you might have already guessed, I am a freelance UI/UX designer and this is my love story.

I moved on from a very toxic laptop that would struggle to start in the first place. With great difficulty, I cajoled it and showered it with tons of love and care, but then the home screen would pop up. It was pretty unapologetic for a laptop but cute as it was my first one, my best friend introduced it to me. It has a drinking problem and I'm left with no other option but to plug it in at all times to juice it up. I used to plan multiple coffee shop dates so that I could meet my clients for a presentation and it would be very stubborn to connect to the WiFi or mobile hotspot. Even if it did then Oh my God! It just remembers that it has gone out of RAM. Honestly, when I bought it, I had tons of expectations but then realised everything comes at a price and I often found myself making my wallet slimmer and slimmer. Even the credit card bills for the laptop were stacking up like a jenga deck. There was a time I had to sacrifice that favourite PlayStation as once the Hard Drive had become corrupt and I had to replace it with an expensive Solid State Drive. Ouch! But it's okay, first love is always special and I was ready to go to any lengths to make up for it.

The laptop started giving up on me despite me playing Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" on a loop and the speakers only cracked. My well-wisher once told me that to be able to understand love, one must understand it deeper. I tuned myself into a techno-romantic, opened the BIOS and tried to communicate the root cause passionately whilst being a great listener. Unfortunately, things between us did not last as long as I hoped they would. I had my last straw when it shut down amidst an important client presentation. It almost cost me a decent amount of my week's paycheck. I decided to part ways. It was difficult, too appalling for me to digest. I spent countless nights pondering over the fact, where did I lack? Don't I deserve better? Minutes passed into hours, hours passed into days. I had already lost my faith but then I discovered something else.

I stumbled upon a laptop and I went head over heels again. I thoroughly listened to its introduction and immediately liked it for the way it was and did not go by the looks. A mistake that I had previously committed. It felt like a connection, a familiarity was apparent and I could sense it. For the first time in many years, my heart concurred with my brain (The previous time was when I decided to take up freelancing). It would be very respectful to me to ensure it never interrupted my workflow and always connected to the WiFi instantly. After it came into my life, everything felt so smooth. Things started to turn around, I was getting bigger and better projects, and my client base widened by quite a number. People began to appreciate my punctuality and meticulousness which were impossible without my wonderful work machine. Whatever I am today is because of my laptop, we spent countless hours building each other and understanding each other's goals and dreams. It never seemed like there could be a better understanding relationship.

I am happy in my life, both mentally and physically. I am taking care of myself more than I ever did. Now, I don't want to reveal my laptop because I like to keep that part of my life private. However, I can tell you one thing for sure, you will make the wrong decision to purchase. Allow yourself to make that wrong decision and help yourself learn from it. Back then I was bold, young and naive. I did not know anything much, but today, I am a grown man. I see things maturely. To those young lads, try to make it work with your existing laptop. It might still have the potential to take you somewhere at least.

If you are a victim of a toxic laptop and have been abused work-wise a lot of times, I urge you to exit. Wake up and move on. Refurbo has helped me meet my better half.
